Fatima Sana Shaikh Biography

Fatima Sana Shaikh is a Mumbai-based girl, and a dancer at Danceworx - a Mumbai-based dance academy who has appeared in a few Bollywood films in brief roles. She is to portray famous Indian wrestler Geeta Phogat, daughter of Mahavir Singh Phogat in Aamir Khan’s upcoming Sports Drama – Dangal. Aamir Khan plays her father’s role while Geeta’s sister Babita Kumari’s role is portrayed by Sanya Malhotra. Fatima entered Bollywood as a child artist and is best remembered for her child role – Baby Bharati, Daughter of Kamal Hassan and Tabu in Chachi 420. She was also seen as a child artist in Shah Rukh Khan starrer 1 2 Ka 4. Fatima has also appeared in one TV serial.

Fatima Sana Shaikh is an actress, dancer and photographer by profession, best known for playing Kamal Hassan’s daughter in Chachi 420 in 1997. Four years later, she appeared in 1 2 Ka 4, playing Jackie Shroff’s daughter. Since then she has been absent in the film scene for a few years, busy with completing studies. Then she returned back with Akshay Kumar – kareena Kapoor starrer Tashan, where she played the supporting role of Zoya.

She appeared in television soap for the first time in 2009. She played the role of Suman in ZEE TV’s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, which was a noticed supporting role. It was followed by supporting roles in Bollywood flicks – Bittoo Boss (2012) and Akashvani (2013). But definitely Dangal is her real break to Bollywood. She was chosen to do the role of Geeta Phogat after a lot of speculations. From Kangana Ranaut and Tapsee Pannu to Urvashi Rautela, several actresses were believed to be in the race and Fatima Sana Shaikh became lucky enough to get the meaty role.
