Father Shaji Thumpechirayil Biography 
Father Shaji Thumpechirayil is a Christian priest from Kerala, most popularly known for his Christian devotional songs. He is a versatile composer, lyricist and singer who has already given life to more than 3000 devotional songs. Music is his life, and he has dedicated his full life in the service of Lord through the songs praising him. He founded a Christian organization, Celebrants India in 1992, which aims at promoting Christian Arts & Culture. As a renowned Christian music director, Shaji Thumpechirayil is popular for bringing freshness, simplicity and novelty in his lyrics and music.
Father Shaji has not received formal training in music. Yet his devotional songs are powerful to touch the souls of believers. For majority of the songs written and composed by him, he rendered his voice. For the rest compositions, many lead voices like M. G. Sreekumar and Vijay Yesudas have lent their voices. As of now, more than 3000 songs have taken birth from his pen. He has also appeared on television and videos, presenting his songs.
His father was an artist who draws wonderful pictures. He was the only artist from his family. Shaji also didn’t receive any formal training in music. Till now, he couldn’t find an answer to how he is able to make beautiful compositions, and write beautiful lyrics. He believes it to Virgin Mary’s blessings. He has also written and composed many popular and hit songs instantly without any preparation. One of his most popular songs, Amme Amme Thaaye was born like this, at a time when he detached himself from all form of activities.
His elder brother Rev. Fr. Thomas Thumpayilchirayil is also a religious priest who currently is a parish vicar in a church belonging to Bathery Diocese of Kannur district. He is also associated with the cultural organization, Celebrants India started by his brother 25 years back to promote Christian culture.
