Farah Pandith Biography 
Farah Pandith, a Kashmiri is best known as the first ever Special Representative to Muslim Communities for the US Department of State, appointed in the year 2009. She focused on Muslim communities in Europe. Later she joined the Harvard University Institute of Politics in 2014. A Kashmiri by birth, she migrated to Massachusetts along with her mother when she was just one year old. She also served as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S and played a significant role in engaging with Muslim communities in Europe, an attempt done for the first time in US history.
Farah was born in 1968 in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir. Moved to Massachusetts the following year, her studies were completed abroad. She completed her graduation course from Milton Academy, in Milton in 1986. She did A.B. in both Government and Psychology in 1990 and completed Master's in Law & Diplomacy in 1995 and later dealt with subjects such as the role of militants killing civilians in Kashmir and insurgency in Kashmir. As a diplomat she also interviewed militants and key members of Indian government in association with this matter.
Currently a board member of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, she also serves as a trustee at Trustee of Smith College and Milton Academy, where she attended her college education. She has also served as a board member of several international committees as a diplomat and a consultant. She also worked at National Security Council at the White House under Elliott Abrams (2004-2007). U.S. Agency for International Development from 1990 to 1993 and Vice President of International Business for ML Strategies, LLC from 1997 to 2003 are other noted contributions.
