Dolly Guleria Biography 
Dolly Guleria is a renowned Punjabi folk singer and the daughter of Surinder Kaur, popularly known as ‘The Nightingale of Punjab’. Her recent releases are "Ik Pal Do Pal”, Mein Beti Tuun Maan, Bhakti Sagar and ‘Ibadataan’, an album dedicated to her mother Surinder Kaur. As a playback singer she has rendered her voice for Punjabi movies like Ab Dian Rakhaan, Deson Pardes and Main Maa Punjab Di. She is a live performer and has also performed on Doordarshan TV and All India Radio. Her popular solo releases are, ‘Nikka Jeha’, ‘Mohabbat Kar Balliye’ and ‘Geetan Da Praga’.
Dolly started learning Indian art forms like Manipuri and Bharat Natyam from Triveni Kala Sangam, Delhi at the age of 5. She learnt kathak from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya Delhi. She started formal training in vocal music at the age of 7 from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya. Later she learnt music from Kundan Lal Sharma of Patiala Gharana, Panna Lal Kathak, Shri Chotey Lal and Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan Khalifa of Delhi Gharana. She performed solo for the first time in the year 1967 in AIR as an amateur artist in Punjabi. She was a medical student who got married to Army Officer Col. S. S. Guleria. The couple had 3 kids.
After settling with the family, she was encouraged by her husband and she continued learning under Ustad Khan Sahib Abdul Rehman Khan, of ‘Patiala Gharana’. It was during then she learnt folk music and light music. Very soon, she released her solo debut album in Gurbani in '‘Ragas’' and sang "Rehraas Sahib" the evening ‘Paath’ in its original ragas. Later she released a few of her mother’s songs as well as songs written by renowned poets like Shiv Kumar Batalvi. “Sufi Kalam-Taarien Saaiyan”, “Gurbani- Chamkan Taarey” and “Marriage Songs-Dheeaan Pardesna” are her latest releases.
