Diljit Dosanjh Biography 
Diljit Dosanjh, also known as Diljit is a Punjabi Singer, film actor, television anchor and philanthropist. His staunch loyalty to the turban has made him an iconic figure in the pop music world. Though his film career was not started smooth, he gained popularity through Jatt & Juliet (2012) and its sequel (2013), both being very successful movies. Actually, Jatt and Juliet 2 released in 2013 has already broken all collection records of Punjabi movies and grossed Rs 249 million worldwide. He has done a cameo appearance in song Pee Pa Pee Pa Ho Gaya of Bollywood hit, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. He has also hosted PTC Punjabi Music Awards continuously for the last two years.
Diljit Dosanjh was born in Jalandhar, Punjab in an agricultural family on 6 January 1984 as the son of Sardar Balbir Singh Dosanjh. Diljit was brought up in his village, 'Dosanjh Kalan' and later the family shifted to the city. Diljit showed interest to music from a younger age and learnt music from S.Gobinder Singh, Prof. Kartar Singh and Mr. Hari dutt Sharma. He used to sing devotional songs at Gurudwaras and also at get-togethers. He studied at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School at Dugri road.
His music journey was started in the year 2000 with the noted song, "Ishq" from the Album “Ishq da Uda Aada”. Following its success, his albums Dil, Smile, Ishq ho gaya and Chocolate were released which were well received. “The Next Level” released in 2009 is regarded as a milestone of Punjabi music which includes chartbusters like Dil Nachda, Desi Daaro, Los Angeles and Rubaroo. Lak 28 is another popular track. His last release was “Back to Basics” released in 2012. After doing a cameo appearance in the film Mel Karade Rabba, he debut in lead role with The Lion of Punjab which was a box office failure. But the successes of Jatt & Juliet and its sequel has brought him back to track.
