Dileep Raj Biography

Dileep Raj is a successful film actor associated with Kannada film industry. He is a film director who has also directed a few TV shows too. He has also done stage plays and television roles too. He started his acting journey through television, playing supporting roles. He rose to prominence later, and with 2005, he started his film journey too. As an actor, he short to fame playing parallel lead in blockbuster film Milana (2007), and later played lead roles too. He played lead role in the highly acclaimed 2016 film, "U Turn”. Barfi, Tony, Lakshmi, Minchagi Nee Baralu and Bhairavi are other noted appearances in the recent times. A man of different roles, he also worked as a dubbing artist in Kannada film industry.

Dileep Raj was born on 2 September 1978 in Bangalore, Karnataka. He is married to Srividya, whom he met in his college days. The couple has two daughters. He completed graduation, and soon after completing the course, he decided to pursue a career in films and acting. During his College, he used to be a dancer and choreographer. He took part in a play as a lead actor for which he won the third best actor. This incident forced him to join amateur theatre and got associated with theatre groups like Nataranga and Drishti. Later he pursued his career in television shows.

At first he appeared in television serials, and played supporting roles in earlier days before moving to prominent roles. Some of his popular roles on television include - Kumkuma Baghya, Preetigaagi, Janani, Ardha Satya Rangoli, Mangalya, Malebillu, and Rathasapthami. He marked his film debut with 2005 Kannada film, Boy Friend. As of now, he has acted in around 25 films.
