Diana Edulji Biography 
Diana Edulji is a former Indian female cricketer who was a member of India’s National team. Widely regarded as the greatest of Indian female players all time and a true legend, government of India honoured her with Padma Shri in 2002 for her contributions towards the field of cricket. She is also a recipient of Arjuna Award in 1983 and many more honours. She played as an all-rounder for her team, and was associated with international cricket during the period, 1976 – 1993, spending around 2 decades in the field of sports. She played a total of 20 test matches and 34 ODIs, and has scored a half-century in test cricket. Currently she is a member of CoA.
Diana Fram Edulji was born on 26 January 1956 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She started playing cricket at a young age. She lived in a railway colony in Mumbai, where she played cricket using a tennis ball during her childhood days. She played basketball and table tennis at the junior national level, and later fully switched over to the game of cricket. She attended a cricket camp hosted by Indian cricketer Lala Amarnath and later joined Railways. After associated with domestic cricket for some time, she was selected to the Indian national cricket team in 1976.
She played her first test against West Indies in 1976 and waited almost two years to play her first ODI in 1978. Her maiden ODI was against England. She later made an impressive career in test cricket as a bowler and is the third highest wicket taker, while it’s not the same in ODIs. She also captained a few matches of national team. Currently serving as a member of CoA, she has been news most recently in January 2018 for her harsh decisions against Indian cricketers, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul following their controversial comments on TV show Koffee with Karan.
