Dhruv Sangari Biography 
Dhruv Sangari also known as Bilal Chishty Sangari is a Hindustani vocalist, Qawwali singer and Sufi singer belonging to present-day generation. He is also a composer, lyricist, savant and teacher. His parents are noted author Kumkum Sangari and noted painter Mahendra 'Manu' Sangari. Dhruv Sangari is fortunate enough to get musical training from the legendary Pakistani singer, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as a teenager. He learnt different styles of music from Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan of Delhi Gharana, Ustad Ghulam Sadiq Khan of Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana, Ustad Meraj Ahmed Nizami of the Delhi Qawwalbachhe Gharana, Shahana Bannerjee and Pandit B.S. Ramanna. He also holds a master’s degree in Hindustani Classical music from the University of Delhi.
Dhruv was born in the year 1981. Shahana Bannerjee was his first guru in Hindustani music and he started learning at the age of 7. He also briefly learnt Hindustani music from Ustad Iqbal Ahmad Khan and tabla from Pandit B.S. Ramanna. Later he got interested in Sufism. Ustad Meraj Ahmed Nizami of the Qawwal-Bachhe Gharana was his first guru in this genre. He also got opportunity to learn under the legendary Hindustani and Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the mid-1990s, just before he passed away in 1997.
He also took master’s degree in Hindustani Classical music from the University of Delhi, and got oppurtunity to learn under some of the leading music gurus. He has been performing professionally since 2001 with his troupe ‘Rooh’. He has also performed with various bands and recorded many albums as well. He anchored a series based on Indian classical Ragas 'Tarang ki Mehfil' for ETV Urdu. Now he has been formally inducted into the Chishti Sufi Order. One of the leading names of qawwali, he is nicknamed 'Prince of Qawwali'.
