Dhriti Saharan Biography

Dhriti Saharan is a model, singer and actress associated with Punjabi cinema. Yet she is from West Bengal. She shot to fame playing the lead role in highly acclaimed Punjabi movie - Sadda Haq, which earned her Best Actress Critics at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2014. She made her film debut in the year 2012 and has acted in four movies so far. She made her film debut with the movie - Pure Punjabi, for which for which she received a nomination for Best Debut Actress at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2012. The Telugu film - Love Touch and Teri Meri Ek Jindari directed by National Award Winner Director Partho Ghosh is her latest release.

Saddha Haq is a theme based on Punjab insurgency in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Dhriti played the role of a young girl from Canada 'Sharon Gill', who comes to India and later meet a person – Kartar Singh in jail, played by lead hero - Kuljinder Sidhu. Sadda Haq was her second Punjabi film after 'Pure Punjabi'. She is also a singer who made her debut as a playback with the song, "Dil Musafir" from the same film.

She made her south Indian debut after the release of her first Punjabi film. Telugu movie, 'Love Touch' along with Jayanth was her debut Telugu film. It was a romantic comedy directed by Srichand. The Punjabi film, 'Teri Meri Ik Jindri', is her next release. She made a cameo appearance in the hit song, "Billo Thumka" from the film Pinky Moge Wali. She is an engineer by profession. But she pursued a career in acting.
