Dhan Singh Negi Biography

Dhan Singh Negi is an Indian politician from Uttarakhand belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently serves as a member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from the Tehri constituency in Tehri Garhwal district. Negi is well known leading voice of rural villages, and in 2017 state assembly elections he defeated a cabinet minister by a huge margin. Negi is leading social change in Tehri from front, and he donates half of his salary in the marriage of daughters of widows, disabled and poor people. It’s first one of this kind of donations from the state.

Dhan Singh Negi was born in village of Palcot, Patti Lamridhar, Tehri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh. His birth place now belongs to Uttarakhand. He was born in year 1972 into a poor family in the rural village. He was youngest child in family. Since childhood he had a helping mentality and helped his running family as well. He used to bring fodder from a jungle, miles apart. During his school days he had to walk over 10 miles daily to reach school. Facing a lot of hardships he completed his education. He also completed his Master’s as well as B.Ed.

His personal experiences and hardships made him determined to work towards the poor sectors of the society. He resigned his job as a lecturer and dedicated his life for social service. For the past two decades, he has been associated with social service and politics. He got elected to state assembly of Uttarakhand in 2017 state assembly elections with a huge margin. He represents Bharatiya Janata Party and has made a lot of developments in his Tehri constituency as a political leader.
