Deepak Tijori Biography

Deepak Tijori is a well famed supporting actor of 90’s who has worked in many blockbuster hits like Aashiqui (1990), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Khiladi (1992), Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1993), Anjaam (1994) and Baadshah (1999). As a hero, he has worked in Pehla Nasha in 1993 opposite Pooja Bhatt and Raveena Tandon. He has also directed one movie with Shetty sisters, Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty. The movie was titled Fareb released in the year 2005. As an actor he has worked for only 35 films. Yet through those less roles played onscreen his screen presence is always remembered. He is always featured as the best friend and adviser of the hero with only one exception Kabhi ha kabhi naa. In this romantic comedy, he overshadowed leading actor Shah Rukh Khan by winning heroine’s heart and marrying her at end.

Deepak Tijori started his acting career with the movie, Krodh (1990) as a supporting actor. His second movie was blockbuster Aashique. Though he played supporting actor role (Rahul’s friend) he has been featured in many of its successful songs like Bas ek sanam chahiye and Dheere dheere se. Yet role of Aashique didn’t give him meaty roles and he continued delivering less significant roles in movies like Dil hain ki manta nahin and Sadak. He was the hot favourite of Mahesh Bhatt during early 90’s and sued to give him a role in almost every film.

It was Abbas Mustan’s Khiladi through which he played the most significant role of his career. He played the friend’s role of Akshay Kumar and played a significant role in its script too. Perhaps it’s the best performance of Deepak dated till now! He played the main villain Shekhar Malhotra, a successful cyclist in Aamir Khan’s movie, Jo jeeta wohi sikander. In this movie, the role played was negative shaded and was well appreciated too. He has worked with Aamir Khan in Ghulam and Afsana Pyaar Ka too.

His other movies include – Afsana Pyaar Ka, Saajan ka ghar, Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao, Hathyaar, Department, Ghaav: The Wound, Baadshah, Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan, Gulaam, Pyar diwana hota hai and Mrityudata.
