Deepak Parashar Biography

Deepak Parashar is an Indian actor who works for movies as well as television serials. He was a successful model also during late 70’s and early 80’s. Parashar has appeared in soap opera Kahiin To Hoga and periodic - Chandramukhi. In 2006 he appeared in reality TV show Bigg Boss and was a part of Doordarshan serials during 90’s. Among his Doordarshan serials, his role as Mahendra Malhotra in Swabhimaan was most popular. It was one among his early serials too.

Among all the movies he worked, B.R. Chopra’s Nikaah remains the best followed by Insaaf ki taraazu, directed by B.R. Chopra himself.  In both these successful movies he was casted as supporting actor. In Nikaah, his negative role was bit surprising yet everyone appreciated it too. The live performances of all its actors including Salma Agha, Deepak Parashar and Raj Babbar have made it one among the most memorable movies released during 80’s.  It’s one among the best directorial ventures of B.R.Chopra too.

Insaaf ki tarazu, the controversial movie has a striking co-incidence with Nikaah. In both these B.R. Chopra’s movies, Deepak Parashar and Raj Babbar have acted and both are love triangles too. In Nikah, Deepak’s role was negative shaded while Raj Babbar was the main villain of Insaaf ki tarazu, though he earned a Filmfare nomination for best actor. Deepak Parashar was casted as the fiancée of Zeenat Aman. Though she is brutally raped by Raj Babbar, her lover Deepak is willing to accept her as wife forgetting those unfortunate incidents. As a lover, Deepak did his role perfectly and stole everyone’s heart. Other movies of DeepaK Parashar are Aap to aise na the and Purani haweli.

He was born in Pune, Maharashtra on 2 April 1952 as the son of Shobha and Vishvanath Parashar. He has worked as a model and his photo shoot on Vimal Suitings was very popular during 80’s. For many years Super Bazar in New Delhi donned his photograph. He was linked with his co-actress Sarika during 80’s, who used to play western roles those days. But later they broke up and she married actor Kamal Hassan.
