Deepak Chaurasia Biography

Deepak Chaurasia is an Indian journalist and star news anchor who currently served with News Nation since 2019. He has been previously associated with most rated Hindi news channels such as Star News, ABP News, India news and Aaj Tak. He left India News in April 2019 and joined News Nation. He also had a brief association with DD News as a consulting editor in 2003, during the parliamentary election season, and returned back to his previous channel – Aaj Tak, with which he has been associated for many years. One of the senior Indian TV journalists, Deepak Chaurasia owns more than 2 decades of experience in this field since 1990s.

 

Deepak Chaurasia hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He was born on 28 December 1968. After completing formal education from his hometown, he joined Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, where he took diploma in journalism. Since then he has been fully associated with the field of Indian journalism. He has been associated with Aaj Tak, one of the most sought Hindi news channels right from its beginning, after which he had a short stint with Doordarshan. After that he returned to Aaj Tak, and later worked with different Hindi news channels.

 

As an anchor, he earned fame and recognition through Aaj Tak news channel. After working with Star group also, he joined India News as editor-in-chief in January 2013. After 6 years of association with the group, he joined News Nation in April 2019. He got into controversies when a Media Sarkar sting operation on AAM party back fired him. He was accused of fabricating the news, for which he was sued for defamation by the party national secretary.
