Deepak Chahar Biography

Deepak Chahar is an Indian cricketer from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. He currently serves as a member of Indian national ODI team when he joined ongoing Asia Cup ODI season, 2018, following the back injury of Hardik Pandya, when the cricketer was replaced. For first class matches he is associated with Rajasthan in domestic cricket, and has been a member of Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Currently he is associated with Chennai Super Kings, when he was brought in 2018 IPL auction. He is a right-arm medium-pace bowler and a low order hitting batsman. He made his international debut with T20 match played against England on 8 July 2018, for which he picked his first international wicket.  

 

Deepak Chahar was born in Agra, UP on 7 August 1992. He has been associated with domestic cricket, playing matches for Rajasthan, before making his IPL and international debut. He made his first class debut at 2010-11 Ranji Trophy season, and in his debut match he played an outstanding innings where picked up figures of 8/10 at Jaipur. Since then as a cricketer he has shined in domestic cricket. Very soon he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals in 2011 edition of IPL, and he remained a member of this team till 2015.

 

In 2016 he was picked by Rising Pune Supergiant, and he remained a member of the same team in 2017 season too. In January 2018, he was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2018 IPL auction. In 2018 July, he also played his first international match, after joining T20 team of India. As of now, the medium-pacer has scored 699 runs and taken 105 wickets in 35 FC matches he played.
