Deekshitha Manikkam is an Indian actress associated with Tamil films. In 2014 she marked her Tamil film debut through Thirumanam Enum Nikkah and later appeared in 2016 movie – Aagam and 2017 movie – Nagarvalam. She played lead roles in both these movies. She is married to music composer Dharan Kumar since September 2017. She played lead heroine Nazriya’s friend in Aascar Films' Thirumanam Enum Nikkah, her debut flick before bagging two good projects in lead role.

Deekshitha Manikkam hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She completed her engineering degree from SRM University. She is married to noted music director of south Indian films, Dharan Kumar. During her college days, she started modelling. During those days at college, she was a finalist of the beauty pageant, Miss South India and also featured in the web series Happy To Be Single. She loved dancing since childhood. Films happened all of a sudden. In 2014, she marked her screen debut with Thirumanam Enum Nikkah, which fared average at box office. She played Nazriya’s close friend, a spunky, naughty Muslim girl who is by her side throughout the film.

In 2016 she bagged her first lead role through Aagam. She was paired with Irfan for this movie directed by V. Vijay Anand Sriram, a PhD holder. He spent 8 long years researching this project and also appeared in an extended cameo role in the film. The movie opened to mixed reviews. Her next release was Nagarvalam in a lead role opposite Yuthan Balaji. The movie also starred Anjathe Sridhar, Yogi Babu and Bala Saravanan in key roles. The movie directed by Marxx opened to mixed reviews from critics. She wants to do one movie with actor Dhanush in future. Though she plays traditional roles most, she is extremely opposite in real life, who always prefer urban clothing.
