Chitti Babu (actor) Biography

Chitti Babu was a popular character artist associated with Tamil cinema. He was also a successful TV anchor and comedian. The actor has acted in numerous comedic roles in movies like Dhool, Dindugal Sarathi, Mappailai, Sivakasi, Boys and Ottran. Chitti Babu passed away in a private hospital in Chennai on 8 November 2013, aged only 49. He was a TV personality turned actor. Asatha Povathu yaaru Show in Sun TV was one of his popular shows as a TV anchor.

His real name is Sajjadh Adeebh. He was born on 10 January 1964 in Puzhudhipatti, Usulampatti district. He entered television scene as an anchor for a comedy show before he acted in movies. He was first seen in 1997 film, Sishya directed by Selva, the director known for giving breaks to film actors. The movie starred Karthik and Roshini in lead roles and Chitti Babu played a pivot role in the film. He gained attention for the first time through the comedy film - Five Star in 2002 where he played Train TTR. The following year he portrayed the role of a marriage broker in Ottran and he created a niche of his own in the industry.

Chitti Babu mostly portrayed comic roles on big screen and was active till death. Following a chest pain, he went through a bypass surgery a few years ago and cut down his projects due to his ill health. Yet he showed signs of recovery later and started accepting film roles once again. But on November 4^th 2013, he fainted at his home and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. He went on a coma and never recovered. He has acted in more than 20 movies, including Dasavatharam. He was last seen in Masani. Aranmanai was released posthumously.
