Chitrangada Singh is a successful actress of Bollywood most known for parallel or offbeat movies. She is among those actresses of Bollywood who made late entry to film field, yet made her distinct finger prints. She has appeared in a few musical videos and ads before appearing in movies. She is most known for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi – her debut movie, Yeh saali zindagi and commercial flick – Desi boyz opposite Akshay Kumar.  She has also played leading role opposite Arjun Rampal in Inkaar. She has also appeared in BasraSorry bhai, Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow and I, Me Aur Main. She received nomination for best debutant female in the year 2006 in several award functions for her performance in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. It includes Star screen awards, Zee cine awards, Bollywood awards and Apsara awards. In 2009, she won Young Women Achiever Award by FICCI.  She was married to Indian golfer Jyoti Randhawa. Her brother Digvijay Singh is also a known golf player.

Chitrangada Singh was born on 28 March 1976 in Rajasthan. She is a trained Kathak dancer. She began her career in Delhi as a model before entering movies. Her popular ads are Alukkas Jewellers and ICICI bank. She was featured in Gulzar’s music album video “Sunset point” which made her a popular face. Yet it took a few more years to enter movies. Sudhir Mishra happened to see her in the music video of Abhijeet Bhattacharya and casted her in the leading role opposite Kay Kay Menon and Shiney Ahuja.

She has done an item song for the first time in the movie, Joker directed by Shirish Kunder. She sang a song as well. Among her movies, Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz needs special mention. In the movie directed by David Dhawan’s son, she played the role of economics teacher and college friend of Akshay Kumar who meets him after a break. Her sizzling chemistry with Akshay was noted and it was a successful movie too.
