C. S. Amudhan Biography

C. S. Amudhan is a film lyricist associated with Tamil cinema. He is also a film director, known for 2010 parody movie, Thamizh Padam, and its sequel, Thamizh Padam 2.0 slated to get released in July 2018. Thamizh Padam earned cult classic status among Tamil movie viewers. He has penned lyrics for the songs, "Maddy Maddy" from Minnale, "Oh Mahazeeya" from Thamizh Padam, "YOLO (You Only Live Once)” from Anegan and "Evada Unna Petha" for Tamizh Padam 2.0. He has been associated with music composers Kannan and Haris Jayaraj as a lyricist. His full name is Sebastian Amudhan, and he hails from Chennai.

 

C. S. Amudhan was born on 19 July 1977 in Chennai. His entry to film scene was as a lyricist, and he penned the peppy number, "Maddy Maddy" for Madhavan starrer Minnale in 2001. His active career in films began only in late 2000s, and marked his directorial debut with Thamizh Padam in 2010. The movie remained in spotlight for many reasons, and was noticed for parody genre. Thamizh Padam is credited to the first full length spoof movie in Tamil cinema, and the lead role was played by Shiva. Disha Pandey played the female lead. A first experimental film on this kind, it won critical acclaim and commercial success at the box office.

 

After a break of almost 8 years, he is to release the sequel of cult classic comedy Thamizh Padam in July 2018. The sequel version stars Shiva and Disha Pandey in lead roles, and is believed to reprise their roles of the prequel. The film is produced by S. Sashikanth. There were rumours of one film titled, Nakka Mukka. But the movie has not been finalized yet.
