Biswatosh Sengupta Biography 
Biswatosh Sengupta is an Indian academic from Kolkata, West Bengal. He is also an artist and has conducted exhibitions on his paintings with computer graphics ‘Graphic Art’. He has received AFIAP distinction for outstanding contribution in the field of Fine art photography in 1975. ESFIAP for Excellent Service for the cause of International Photography in 1985, Honorary Fellowship of The National Photographic Art Society Sri Lanka in 1984 and Fellowship by Bangladesh Photographic Society are the major honours received by him. As an academician, he has held many decorative posts under state and central government.
He was born in Kolkata on September 11, 1944 to Manindranath and Provabati Sengupta. He was fourth among the seven kids to his parents. He graduated in Mathematics from Calcutta University and received Certificate in statistics from ISI in the year 1966. After completing post-graduation in Statistics in 1969, he travelled abroad for higher studies. He completed PD Diploma in Demography from ISI and Summer Course on Population from USA and Korea. After returning to India, he was busy with studying more courses including Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Writing in English, Diploma in Computer in Office Management, GIS, MCA and many more. He also completed a training course on Management and Planning of Environment from ATI, Bengal. Now also he is studying new courses and in 2012, completed Post Graduate Diploma in ‘Appreciation of Indian Art’.
Throughout his professional career, he concentrated on to various subjects including Statistics, Demography, Planning and IT. About his professional career – he served as the Additional Director-in-Charge in Socio-Economic Planning and Appraisal Maintaining Evaluation in KMDA till his retirement in 2010 and has handled different sectors.
