Bipin Chandran Biography

Bipin Chandran is a very successful screenwriter associated with Malayalam cinema. He has co-scripted many hit movies of Malayalam in the recent times. 1983, Best Actor, Paavada, C/O Saira Banu etc are among his successful works as a screenwriter, while he wrote dialogues for noted films like King Liar, Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram etc. Daddy Cool in 2009 was his debut film as a dialogue writer which didn’t fare well up to expectations. He also played a cameo role in the film. Later he appeared in a cameo role for Dileep starrer King Liar, for which he wrote dialogues too. He has published several books including - 'Mammootty: Kazhchayum Vayanayum', an anthology of memoirs.

 

Bipin Chandran was born in Ponkunnam, Kottayam in Kerala. During his school days, he was interested in acting and won many prizes as well. After studies he pursued his career as a school teacher. He earlier worked at AKJM HSS Kanjirappally and now at Girls HSS Edakunnam. He schooled from AKJM HS Kanjirappally, where he later started his professional career as a teacher.

 

He studied graduation from St. Berchmans College, Changanacherry. He met film director Martin Prakkat during his college days, who was also a college student. They were together involved in many cultural events. While at college, Bipin was quite active in cultural events and served as Arts Club Secretary, and editor of college magazine too.

 

As a dialogue writer, he marked his debut with Mammootty starrer Daddy Cool in 2009. He joined hands with his college friend Martin Prakkat for yet another Mammootty project, Best Actor the following year. The film was a hit, and the film marked his debut as a screenwriter. He went on to write many hit scripts for Malayalam films.
