Bijukuttan Biography

Bijukuttan is a popular comedian and character artist associated with Malayalam cinema. Appeared in a brief role aside Mammootty in 2007 film, Pothen Vava, he got his first full-fledged role through Mohanlal starrer comedy film, Chotta Mumbai the following year. Since then in the past one decade, Bijukuttan has portrayed some of the memorable comedy roles onscreen. A familiar face of Malayalam cinema, he was most recently seen in Annmariya Kalippilannu, Godha, Aadu Oru Bheegara Jeeviyanu, Female Unnikrishnan, Adi Kapyare Koottamani, Kunjiramayanam etc. He has appeared in a few television serials and hosted a few comedy shows too.

He hails from Kochi, Kerala. He was born on 24 December 1976. North Paravur is his hometown. He had his primary education at S. N. M. High School, Moothakunnam. He dropped studies at his tenth grade. He is married to Subitha and the couple has two daughters. He started his career as a mimicry artist and standup comedian, and appeared in a few TV shows before his film debut. Savari Girigiri, 5 Star Thattukada and Ettu Sundarikalum Njanum are his popular shows which gave him initial success.

His appearance in TV show, 5 Star Thattukada directed by Benny B Nayarambalam gave him a big break he was waiting for. His appearance in the show gave him the first break to films. He shared screen space with Mammootty for his debut film, and the megastar was very supportive. During the breaks, the superstar would ask him to perform mimicry to entertain the crew of film set. His second film Chotta Mumbai was with Mohanlal. The actor is a great fan of both these megastars and he is indeed happy that he got big break to films through his favourite stars’ movies.

His full length comedy role in Chotta Mumbai got clicked, and very soon he received more comic roles from Malayalam cinema. Till now Bijukuttann has appeared in around 50 films.
