Bibhuprasad Mohapatra Biography

Bibhuprasad Mohapatra is a young writer belonging to Odia literature. He is best known for popularizing science in both English and Oriya in the recent times, and as a freelancer he writes columns for various forms of publications. Since 2012, he writes in English and Odia for dailies, and also contributes for Press Information Bureau. He has published over 150 articles, stories, and features till now. His writings have appeared in National Book Trust's Reader's Club Bulletin, Science Reporter, Science Horizon, Science Park, and many other science publications.

 

Bibhu Prasad Mohapatra was born on 14 May 1991 in Bhogada of Khordha district, Odisha state. He did his schooling from Bhogada UGME School, followed by Bhogada High School in 2007. He scored full in mathematics in his Plus-Two exams, and he has been drawn towards science since young. He studied science at Banki Autonomous College for two years, and later completed his graduation in mathematics and computing too. He started his career as a freelancer columnist for newspapers since 2012, and has been active in this field for the past 6 years or so, publishing science articles in magazines and dailies.

 

As of now he has published more than 150 articles of various forms. He writes in both Oriya and English languages, and is currently one of the most promising young writers in non-fiction genre from Odisha. "Douglas Engelbert : Inventor of Computer Mouse","Jala : Chinta O Anuchinta","Climate Change", "Eminent Physicist", "Evolutionary Biologist : J B S Haldane", "Remembering the Savior of Countless Mothers", “Quiz”, "Prof. C R Rao : An Eminent Statistician" etc are some of his published non-fiction columns.
