Bhargavi (actress) Biography

Bhargavi was an upcoming south Indian actress who met with a fatal death. She was found dead at her house at Banjara Hills along with an orchestra troupe operator, Praveen Kumar (Buji) and there were speculations that she was murdered by Buji with a knife who later ended his life by consuming poison. A promising young actress of Telugu cinema, she played the parallel lead in Telugu blockbuster of 2008, Ashta Chamma – a comedy film written and directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti. She shared screen space with Nani, Srinivas Avasarala and Swathy Reddy for this film. Worked in many television shows, she rose to fame with the TV show Ammamma.com.

 

Bhargavi was born in Gorantla village of Guntur district in the year 1983. YVS Chowdary’s Devadasu released in 2006 marked her film debut, where she was seen in a supporting role. She rose to fame with Telugu blockbuster of 2008, Ashta Chamma and she became a household name through the television shows in Telugu language before the release of Ashta Chamma. In the brief period of around three years, Bhargavi managed to make a distinct mark in the entertainment industry.

 

Praveen Kumar, best known by the name Buji had a musical orchestra. He was divorced twice and it was rumoured that he had a secret marriage with Bhargavi on 12 February 2006, in the presence of a few friends at Murali Krishna hotel in Nellore. In the suicide note it was written that though they were married, they were separated for the last few months. After the success of Ashta Chamma she chose to stay away from him and her mother created a rift between the two – says the suicide note. However her father stated that she was not married to Buji.
