Banerjee (actor) Biography

Banerjee is the screen name of Maganti Venu Banerjee, a south Indian film actor. He primarily works in Telugu cinema. He started his career as an assistant director, and later started accepting small roles on big screen. He appeared as a villain and supporting actor in many films, and owns more than three decades of experience in film industry. Initially he worked as an assistant director to U. Visweswara Rao in the Telugu film industry, and made screen appearance since early 1980s. As of now he has acted in over a hundred films, predominantly in Telugu.

Maganti Venu Banerjee was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He started his film career as an assistant director and with more than 30 years of experience in the field, he has witnessed and observed a lot of films and people and how they gained maturity. So it won’t disappoint him too much when something doesn't work. He has been disheartened several times when his full length roles have been chopped off partially or completely during editing process, though the directors give him positive remarks during film shooting.

The actor feels that he is not a bad actor at all, but the opportunities for substantial dialogues have been missing in films for a long time. Ee Abbayi Chala Manchodu is one among his best roles in the recent past. However the movie didn’t fare well at box office. Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, Shopping Mall, Mirchi, Ee Abbai Chala Manchodu, Santhosham, Anandham, Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru!, Sri Sitaramula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi, Gulabi, Little Soldiers are some of the movies in which he acted. He was most recently seen in Tej I Love You and Rangasthalam.
