Baiju (malayalam Actor) Biography

Baiju is a very popular Malayalam actor best known for playing character roles. He has also played comic and negative roles on screen, and appeared in a few television shows too. Baiju is associated with Malayalam cinema since 1980s, and has spent about 4 decades in the industry. He started his career in Malayalam cinema as a child artist in 1982 and has portrayed different kinds of roles belonging to all genres. This veteran has appeared in more than 1000 Malayalam films since 1980s. He also directed movie, Thavalam starring Suresh Gopi.

His full name is Baiju Santhosh Kumar. Yet he is known as Baiju in Malayalam cinema. He is married to Ranjitha and the couple has one daughter and one son. Director Balachandra Menon introduced Baiju in Maniyanpilla Adhava Maniyanpilla in the year 1982 as a child artist, and since then he became an integral part of Malayalam cinema, essaying different character roles. Though he mostly handles comic roles, he occasionally handles serious roles too. Baiju always form a part of movies which include multi star cast and ensemble character artists.

Though known for his comic image in Malayalam cinema, he has been involved in a few controversies too. For assaulting and threatening a businessman a case was registered against him in 2005. He was once charged for holding a licensed pistol during election time. Apart from Malayalam movies, he has also worked in other regional films including Telugu. He has been a part of many masala potboilers, mostly as a part of ensemble star cast in the 1990s.
