Babu Mohan Biography

Babu Mohan is a noted comedian associated with Telugu cinema. He is also a politician, a parliamentarian and former Social Welfare Minister in the TDP government, Andhra Pradesh. Along with Kota Srinivasa Rao he has given some hilarious comedy scenes for Telugu entertainment field. His association with Brahmanandam has also given some noted comedy elements for the movies - Hello brother, Varasudu, Allari Alludu, Peda Rayudu, Appula Apparao and Jamba Lakidi Pamba. Babu Mohan is also known as the supporter of N. T. Rama Rao and has become an MLA of Telugu Desam Party. After two consecutive defeats he joined Telangana Rastra Samithi and has won General Assembly elections.

His birth name is Kasturi Babu Mohan Rao. He is a native of Beerolu, Khammam district, Telangana. His father was a teacher. After completing education, Babu worked in government Revenue department. However he resigned his job to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He got his first break through Ee Prasnaku Baduledi. It was followed by three comic roles – Ahuthi, Ankusham and Mamagaru, which cemented his position as an entertainer of Telugu film industry. Since then comic roles came pouring in.

Among all comic actors, his combination scene with Kota Srinivasa Rao was noticed most. Most of those roles were given by famous director S. V. Krishna Reddy. Though he is active in politics, he occasionally acts in Telugu movies at present. Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Charitra, Sandhya, Varoodhini.Com, Ayomayam Apartment, Badmaash, Mondi Mogullu Penki Pellalu, Comedy Express etc are among his recent releases. Associated with Telugu Desam Party and Telangana Rastra Samithi, he has also created a reputation in the state and central politics scene.
