Baba Sehgal Biography 
Baba Sehgal, popularly known as King of Rap was the first Indian musician who earned name through ‘rap’ music. He is one among those leading voices who popularized western fast singing style, rap among Indian music lovers. New era of this singing style became popular in India with 1990’s, started by Sehgal. He is credited as the first Indian rapper to jump on the Indi pop bandwagon. He has fully dominated the Indian rap music with hits such as 'Thanda Thanda Paani', 'Manjula' and 'Dil Dhadke'. He played lead role opposite Zeba in Bollywood suspense thriller, Miss 420 in 1998. Though the movie failed at box office, the song, ‘Aaja mere gaadi mein beit jaa’ was a chartbuster. He was a model, television host and also a stage performer.
Sehgal's first album was Dilruba in 1990. It was a time when film music completely dominated the industry. Yet Sehgal created his own path and became popular as a pop singer with a series of albums during 1990’s -Alibaba (1991), Thanda Thanda Pani (1992), Main Bhi Madonna (1993) and Double Gadbad (1999). He was the first Indian pop singer whose music video was shown in MTV Asia. In 1995, he composed music for Bollywood movie - Dance Party which became popular. "Kapurthala se aaya hoon” was the top song of the album.
During middle 1990’s he anchored the popular music countdown show of Doordarshan – Super hit Muquabla. This musical show was the top program of DD Metro during middle 1990’s. Now he is anchoring the TV show 'Santa and Banta news unlimited' on Zoom. Sehgal has rendered his voice for many Telugu movies and also Tamil movies. He sang songs of Singham, Singham 2, 12B and Alex Pandian for Tamil. Fast numbers of Gabbar Singh, Rikshavodu, Jalsa, Adhurs, Don Seenu and Aarya 2 became instant hits. Sehgal has also rendered his voice to one of the tracks of Roja – debut movie of Rahman as a music director.
