B. N. Vijaya Kumar Biography

B.N. Vijaya Kumar was a politician and MLA from Bangalore, Karnataka. He was serving as the Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Jayanagar in Bangalore, when death took him away on 4 May 2018 aged 59. He died of cardiac arrest. He was a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as General Secretary of Bangalore City BJP for almost 12 years, and was also President of BJP for Bangalore city unit. It was for the second time in a row he got elected as MLA from Jayanagar Constituency. He was the BJP candidate for the upcoming state Assembly elections to be held in May.

B.N. Vijaya Kumar was born on October 1958 as the son of B. N. Narayan. After doing his schooling from HAL School and RV High School, he took Civil Engineering from the BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 1990 and entered active politics very soon. Serving as the General Secretary of BJP of Bangalore city for almost 12 years, he also served many elite positions of the party within regional politics. Known to be a gentleman in politics due to his sober and down-to-earth image, he was a very popular leader among the masses.

Vijaya Kumar is a 2-time MLA from Jayanagar in Bangalore, and as per news he was to contest the state assembly elections for the third time for upcoming Karnataka Election 2018. He collapsed during his election campaign on 3^rd May evening and died the following day early morning around 1 am. He was on a door-to-door campaign at Pattabhiramanagar area and was in a voter's residence when he had a massive cardiac arrest. He was a bachelor.
