B. N. Sharma Biography

B. N. Sharma is a noted character artist associated with Punjabi entertainment industry. He is also a theater artist. This veteran actor started his career with a Punjabi soap, Jeb Katre on Jalandhar Doordarshan in the year 1985 and later played various roles in many Punjabi films. Jatt and Juliet, Mahaul Theek Hai, and Carry On Jatta are among his most popular roles. He has excelled in comic roles. Visakhi (1987) was his first break to Punjabi films. Known for his excellent dialogue delivery skills, he is one of the most popular character artists of Punjabi cinema all time.

He originally belongs to Delhi. His parents wanted him to be an engineer. But since early 1970s he worked as a police constable. As a police constable though he worked for long 25 years, and he continued with theatre and movies as well. Thus during his career as a constable, he acted in more than 40 movies. In 1985 he entered television through the serial, Jeb Katre, in which he played a grey shaded role. Two years later he made his film debut through Visakhi (1987). Since then he has acted in more than 70 Punjabi movies. Mahaul Theek Hai (1999) is his most popular role in 1990s.

Now also fully engaged with Punjab cinema, he worked in the super hit film - Jatt and Juliet and its sequels - Jatt & Juliet 2 and Carry On Jatta, where he excelled as a comedian. Sharma won the Best Actor in a Comic Role award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards. His decision to enter films and theater was not appreciated by his parents at first, though he is now a successful actor, loved by millions. Bhaji in Problem is his latest release.
