Ayesha Khanna Biography

Ayesha Khanna is a Bollywood actress from Delhi, who made her film debut with Dishkiyaoon in 2014. The movie directed by Sanamjit Singh Talwar, she played the female lead opposite Harman Baweja. The movie also starred Aditya Pancholi, Sunny Deol and Prashant Narayanan in the pivot roles. With mixed response from critics, the movie was a box office failure. The movie was produced by Shilpa Shetty and Sunil Lulla. It was Shilpa’s debut movie as a film producer.

A Delhi girl, Ayesha stayed in Mumbai for about four years before her film debut. She has been styling for films since a long period. She has been associated with Yash raj films as a stylist and costume designer for the movies - Band Baaja Baarat’ and ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’. When Harman Baweja was finalized for the lead hero role, five other secondary characters have also been selected. But film makers didn’t get heroine then.  Ayesha was styling Harman Baweja in ‘Dishkiyaaon’, when the film’s producer Shilpa Shetty spotted her and casted her in the lead role. She was also doing costumes for him. In fact Shilpa forced her to do audition for the role. Director of the film, Sanamjit Singh Talwar also liked her during film auditions. She was selected for the heroine’s role overnight, which Ayesha never expected.

Earlier she has styled Parineeti Chopra for her first film- ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ for Yash Raj Films. Parineeti was doing marketing then. Ayesha got some training from the director one month before film’s shooting. Actually she didn’t have enough time to join an acting school. She also didn’t have any previous acting experience and was quite nervous for her first shot, playing a guitar on stage. She also styled those selected five characters of the movie, as she has already started the work.
