Avantika Shetty Biography

Avantika Shetty is a leading Kannada actress associated with film industry. She has been associated with Hindi television before she moved to big screen entertainment. She plays lead roles in films. She made her film debut in Rangi Taranga (2015) in a supporting role, and the movie emerged to be a blockbuster of the year. She also earned a nomination at the Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress. Kalpana 2 and Raju Kannada Medium are her other Kannada releases. In 2018 she marked her Telugu debut with a Telugu-Kannada bilingual, Rajaratham/Rajaratha.

Avantika hails from Shimoga, Karnataka. She marked her acting debut with Hindi television shows before she moved to south Indian films. She was first seen in an uncredited role in2008 period drama, Dharam Veer. Her first credited role was Gauri Sumer Raghuvanshi in Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai during 2009-2010. She later played Ragini’s role in Na Aana Is Des Laado during 2012-2015. After that she moved to south Indian films. While she was associated with Hindi television, she also appeared in two Hindi short films - Arranged Marriage and Bin Tere.

Avantika made an impressive debut in big screen through Rangi Taranga (2015) in a supporting role. Her role as Sandhya Bhargav, a journalist earned her a lot of praises. The movie’s success gave her more opportunities from south Indian cinema, both in Telugu and Kannada. She later acted in Kannada films, Kalpana 2 and Raju Kannada Medium before she marked her Telugu debut with the bilingual Rajaratham. Kalpana 2 was a horror film in which she played the role of Nandini. It’s the official remake of Tamil flick, Kanchana 2. Shetty reprised the role played by Tapsee Pannu in the original.
