Ausaf Sayeed Biography 
Ausaf Sayeed is an Indian diplomat from Hyderabad who serves the Indian Foreign Service. He currently serves as High Commissioner of India to Seychelles since February 17, 2017. He has formerly served as Ambassador of India to Yemen during September 19, 2010 – July 15, 2013 and also Consul General of India, Chicago during August 5, 2013 – January 21, 2017. He is the son of Awaz Sayeed, an Urdu poet and writer who lived in Hyderabad in the 20th century, best known as a humourist. His paternal grandfather Sayeed Bin Awaz Bin Jabir Bin Abdullah served as State Financier in the princely state of Hyderabad during British rule. Ausaf belongs to 1989 Batch in IFS.
Ausaf Sayeed was born on 18 September 1963 in Hyderabad, undivided Andhra Pradesh. He is the son of leading Urdu writer, Awaz Sayeed and his wife Kaneez Fatima. He belongs to a family of Hyderabad Deccan, with roots in Mukallah in Hadhramaut. After completing his master’s degree, he took Ph.D.in Geology from the Osmania University in Hyderabad. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Arabic from the American University in Cairo. He cleared civil service exams in 1989. As a diplomat he has served his nation for the past three decades.
He is also a writer of non-fiction and has published three books till now. Trends in Objective Geology for Civil Services and Other Competitive Examinations, Trends in Indian Culture and Heritage: For Civil Services and Indian Art and Culture are his published books which provide guidance to aspiring candidates to write civil exams. He has also published many columns in leading magazines and other forms of publications. He has also compiled and edited the Urdu book - Kulliyat-e-Awaz Sayeed, which includes the entire works of his father.
