Aswathy Manohar Biography

Aswathy Manohar is a budding young actress associated with Malayalam cinema. She marked her debut with 2018 action thriller film, Swathandriam Ardharathriyil directed by Tinu Pappachan and written by Dileep Kurian. The movie starring Antony Varghese of Angamaly Diaries fame and Vinayakan of Kammattipaadam fame opened to very positive reviews from critics and was a box office hit. Aswathy is a dancer and yoga coach, prior to her entry in films in 2018.

Since young, her friends used to ask her, if she can try a hand in films. But she was not at all interested in acting then, though was interested in watching movies. Slowly she began to think that many newcomers are coming to the film industry, and she too decided to try her luck in films. When she got the casting call of Swathandriam Ardharathriyil, she felt that no other film can give such a big break to a newcomer, and she decided to give auditions. She was the first one to perform at auditions. She was very much nervous while performing the scene before the team, but luckly got selected. Thus she got casted as Jacob’s Betsy.

She started studying different dance forms since childhood. But she never thought of taking it as profession. She schooled from Kottayam Girideepam School and Essential school. Soon after completing her schooling, she felt that she should opt for dancing as her career. Currently she works as a freelancer dancer and choreographer with various companies. She is currently doing her Master’s degree in Bharathanatyam from Bangalore too. She learnt yoga during her academic years, and is currently teaching students too.

She hails from Kottayam. She is the daughter of Sivan Manoharan and Anita. She has one elder sister, who is settled in US after her marriage. Actually she got interested in dancing after she watched her elder sister dancing, during their childhood days.
