Ashwanth Thilak is a noted television actor associated with Tamil television industry. He also appears in Tamil movies, in supporting roles. He is the son of dance choreographer Seenu. He worked as a background dancer in 2007 Tamil movie, Malaikottai and later appeared in lead role in Kodaikanal, followed by Nayagi, Puthiya Bruce Lee, Snehavin Kadhalarkal (lead role), Poo, Raavanan and also in one Malayalam film titled, Climax in 2013. Many of his Tamil releases in lead role got shelved. However he gained recognition through television roles he got. He is also a noted model by profession.

Ashwanth Thilak was born on 8 April 1979 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the son of noted choreographer Seenu. Ashwanth studied hotel management before he forayed to films. He marked his acting debut in Kodaikanal (2008) playing lead role opposite Poorna. However the low budget film had a low profile release, and sank at box office. He has also worked as a background dancer in films prior to his acting career, as his father was associated as a choreographer in movies. Later he was seen in Nayagi, Puthiya Bruce Lee, Poo, Raavanan etc. He portrayed Velan, the fiancé of the character portrayed by Priyamani in Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan. It was one of his noted film roles.

His movie projects like Neengatha Ninaivugal got shelved. In 2014 he played lead role opposite Krithi Shetty in Snehavin Kadhalarkal. But the movie flopped at box office. Currently Thilak has moved on to small screen. Among his television roles, Vamsam is his most popular one. He is also into modelling and travelling is his favourite hobby.
