Ashoke Pandit Biography

Ashoke Pandit is a filmmaker and social activist who currently serves as the Vice President of IMPPA (Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association). Earlier he has served twice as the President of IFTDA (Indian Films & Television Directors' Association), and currently a member of CBFC. He has also directed TV shows like Filmi Chakkar starring Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, Tere Mere Sapne on Zee starring Aruna Irani & Irrfan Khan and many more shows. Colgate Top 10, Thriller at 10, Hanste Khelte, Vilayati Babu, Mungerilal Series, Rishtey, Gubbare and Mukkammal are a few more. Ashoke is married to Neerja Pandit, a playback singer associated with Bollywood and Telugu cinema.

 

He was born on 11 May 1957. He married playback singer Neerja Pandit in the year 1988. The couple has one son and one daughter. He gained recognition in television scene producing and directing many shows. Colgate Top 10, Thriller at 10, Hanste Khelte, Vilayati Babu, Mungerilal Series, Rishtey, Gubbare and Mukkammal are among his popular and entertaining shows on television. Ashoke Pandit produced and directed 13 films for television for Sony t Television in association with Madhur Bhandarkar's Bhandarkar Entertainment. The show was titled Heroine- Zindagi Ke Panno Se. He has also produced documentaries for social cause. He co-produces Bollywood film, The Accidental Prime Minister starring Anupam Kher.

 

In May 2018 he came to spotlight most recent, after the death of actress of yesterdays, Geeta Kapoor. Deserted by her kids in a private hospital in her old age last year, as a social activist and co-worker from the Hindi entertainment and film industry, he cleared her hospital bills and shifted her to an old age home. Till her death in 2018, he stood as her local guardian.
