Ashna Zaveri Biography

Ashna Zaveri is a popular south Indian actress who works in Tamil movies. Marked her film debut in a lead role with 2014 film Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham, she acted in a few more Tamil movies. Her debut film received mixed reviews from critics. Interestingly she was paired opposite Santhanam in her first two released movies - Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham and Inimey Ippadithan. Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum (2016), Brahma.com (2017) and Nagesh Thiraiyarangam (2018) are other releases. Titanic is her upcoming release, where she is to play a parallel lead role aside Anandhi.

Ashna was born on 18 October 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was a fashion-stylist. She worked as a model in Mumbai before she entered south Indian cinema. She modeled for brands like PowerShot with Anushka Sharma, Shaadi.com, Addiction Deo, Indulekha Care etc. In 2014 she forayed into Tamil films through Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham opposite Santhanam, and she was paired with the same actor in a lead role for her second film, Inimey Ippadithan also. In her debut film she played a desi Indian girl and played a demure, small town girl. In her second flick, she played a vibrant, confident, glamorous, rich, city girl with a strong personality, and wears modern clothes.

She looked perfect with comedian turned hero onscreen and she was comfortable working with him for a second film in a row. Through Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham Santhanam marked his debut in a lead hero role. Both these movies were tagged as comedy entertainers. Her second release was directed by debutants, Murugan and Anand. As a part of preparation of both these roles, she started watching Tamil movies to know the language a little bit near. She also attended acting workshops and hired a Tamil tutor in Mumbai.
