Ashish Nehra Biography 
Asish Nehra is an Indian cricketer who is representing India at the international matches since 1999. He is a right handed batsman and left arm fast-medium bowler. He was born on 9th April 1979 in New Delhi. His parents are Diwan Singh and Sumitra Nehra. His wife is Rushma. He made his Test debut on 24th February 1999 against Sri Lanka, ODI debut on 24th June 2001 against Zimbabwe and T20 debut on 9th December 2009 against Sri Lanka.
He started to play first class cricket for his hometown, Delhi. He was a part of the Indian team at the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. In the match against England, he got six wickets for 23 runs. He could not continue without break due to his injuries. He has got more than 144 ODI wickets at an average of 30.54. His performance in the second IPL season made him taken back to the ODI squad for the tour against West Indies in June 2009.
He took part in 2011 Cricket World Cup. He was expensive in the match giving 65 runs in 8.4 wicketless overs. Many people thought that his world cup participation was over. However he was called to play in the semi-final against Pakistan. He took 2 wickets in 10 overs giving only 33 runs leading to the victory of India. He could not play final match as he his finger was fractured.
He joined IPL and signed up for the Mumbai Indians. In the game against Rajasthan Royals, he got Man of the Match award on 7th May 2008 as he took three wickets in the match. He played for Delhi Dare Devils in 2009 IPL season. In the 2011 IPL Players Auction, he was bought for a sum of Rs. 3.90 crores by Sahara Pune Warriors team. He is one of the few Indian bowlers who have taken 100 wickets in ODIs. His score of 6 wickets for 23 runs in the 2003 ICC World Cup against England is considered to be the best bowling figures of India.
