Ashima Bhalla Biography

Ashima Bhalla is a noted television actress associated with Hindi soaps and entertainment industry. She has also worked in Hindi and south Indian films as a dancer as well as lead and supporting roles. She hails from Assam. She is best known for portraying the lead role in the Indian soap Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni on Star Plus. She was casted opposite Karan Grover for the show. She participated in the reality series, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena alongside Irfan Pathan. She has appeared in over a dozen of films belonging to Hindi, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages, which include many lead and parallel roles down south.

Ashima Bhalla is an actress of Assamese origin. She started her career in films, and later moved to television. Bhalla made her acting debut with Bollywood film, Pyaar Zindagi Hai (2001) starring Mohnish Bahl and super star Rajesh Khanna. She played the female lead opposite Vikas Kalantri in the movie. But the movie bombed at box office, and she started accepting south Indian films. Her second release was Daddy the same year. It was her first south Indian film, released in Telugu, and she shared screen space with Chiranjeevi and Simran for the film. The film completed 50 days in 97 centres and 100 days in 15 centres, and emerged as a box office hit.

After the success of Daddy, she got many offers from south, mostly lead roles. In 2004 she made her Kannada debut through Jyeshta, playing lead role opposite Devraj. The film fared average at box office. She was seen in a brief role in Hrithik Roshan starrer Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and in an item song in Hathyar, both released in 2002. She marked her television debut in 2007 playing the lead role in Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni. She was most recently seen in Mere Papa Hero Hiralal in 2018, playing the role of Inspector Mina.
