Ashagi Lamiya Biography

Ashagi Lamiya is a TV anchor from Kerala best known for her association with Darshana TV. She is also a successful photographer who has won many awards. She is also a screenwriter and actress. She has written the screenplay of documentary films such as 'Nashtapeta Kanuneer', 'Vengeance Demon' etc. Through different talk shows, she has interviewed many celebrities and businessmen. A multifaceted personality, she is a journalist who edits newspapers, a screenwriter, TV anchor and presenter, and an actress too who has appeared in Malayalam short films. She also contributes to the City Talk section of the weekly Oman Daily Observer.

Ashagi Lamiya was born on 6 March 1989 in Talassery, Kerala. She schooled at Mambaram English Medium School of her hometown. She has been a gifted artist right from childhood, who actively participated in cultural events and singing & dancing competitions too. She also took part in photography and theatre since young. She later completed graduation in Visual Communication from Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science. While studying there, she finished second at National Photography Competition conducted on child labour and child begging in 2010. Rocky George, a  senior photographer of Malayala Manorama stood first. The winners were selected from among 500 entries.

While doing her graduation, she marked her acting debut through 'Together Forever', a short film, and later appeared in a few more. In her professional career, she came to limelight as a star anchor, presenting different kinds of shows on Malayalam television. She also worked as an editor and journalist, and continued with her career as a photographer too. Lamiya has done a public service PowerPoint presentation on national patriotism.
