Asawari Joshi Biography

Asawari Joshi is a very popular and senior actress of Indian television, who predominantly appears in Hindi and Marathi TV shows. She has also done a few films in both these languages, and has appeared in several ads and Marathi stage plays too. Joshi is one of the well-known faces of Doordarshan serials in the 1990s, and she appeared in several ads during this period, making her name a household. Her role in Hindi serial Shake it up aired on Disney Channel and Office Office are among her most memorable television roles.

Asawari Joshi was born on 6 May 1965 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She started her acting career in the late 1980s, and became a familiar face onscreen in the 1990s and later. Marathi film, Ek Ratra Manterleli released in 1989 marked her acting debut followed by the movies, Godi Gulabi, Sukhi Sansarachi 12 Sutre etc. She was seen in Bollywood films - Bal Brahmachari, Pyaar Zindagi Hai, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Hattrick, Om Shanti Om, Hum Tum Aur Ghost, Hello Darling, Shagird etc. She has been more regular in TV shows than full-length film roles.

Shake it up remains her most popular show on small screen. Zabaan Sambhalke in 1993 was her first TV show, in which she appeared in one episode. Later she has been a part of Hindi TV shows, Office Office, Naya Office Office, Naya Office Office, Naya Office Office etc. She also acted in Marathi TV shows, Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta, Mala Susu Havi etc. She anchored the chat show, Chitrasarada. Some of her Marathi stage plays are Char Choughi, Savitri Shashikant Deshpande, Antar Adhikari Shanahe etc.
