Archana Nair Biography

Archana Nair is a successful model from Kerala. She won Miss Kerala beauty pageant for the year 2009. She hails in US and she was only 19 when she won the title. She is also the second runner up at the Miss India USA 2008. She is a medical student at the Stanford University School of Medicine at present. She is also pursuing Biomechanical engineering from Stanford University.

 

Archana Nair was born on January 15, 1990, in Mankato USA to Malayali parents. She is a single child to her parents. Her parents belong to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Her father is an Engineering college professor and mother is a software engineer. She graduated from Eden Prairie Senior High School, Minnesota in 2008. The following year she participated in Miss Kerala contest and won the title. She also won the title "Nritha Rani" the same year. As a student she has been active in many cultural events. She is a trained classical dancer who took formal training in Mohiniyattom, Bharatnatyam, and Kuchipudi at an early age. She became "Kalathilakom" in Fokana 2002. She also won "Miss Fokana" title two years later. She won "Kanaka Chilanka" at inter-college festival held in Chicago in 2009.

 

Though she was not interested in beauty pageants and felt that they were superficial, her attitude changed soon after participating in them. She began participating in beauty pageants at the age of 14 and she feels it is a great learning experience. She won Miss FOKANA (Federation of Kerala Associations in North America) title at the age of 14. Miss American Malayali and Miss Teen Indian America are the titles she won in the first phase of her modelling career.
