Anwar Biography 
Anwar Hussain, better known as Anwar is an Indian playback singer. He is better regarded as an excellent clone of singer Mohd Rafi in singing style and voice and has given many memorable hits to Bollywood. It’s a bit difficult to identify between these two singers. Humse Ka Bhool Hui and Jo Yeh Sajaa Hum Ka Mili of Janta Havaldar, Title track and Rab Se Zyada Tera Naam Leta Hun of Sohni Mahiwal, Nazar Se Phool Chunti Hai of Ahista Ahista, Yun Zeher Zindagi Ka of Salaam e Mohabbat, Mohabbat Ab Tijarat of Arpan, Zindagi Imtihan Leti hai of Naseeb, Ek Akela Man Ka Panchchi of Sardar and Hathon Ki Chand Lakiron Ka of Vidhata are the top songs of Anwar. He has also released a few ghazals.
Anwar was born in 1949 in Mumbai. His father was an accomplished harmonium player and an assistant music director to the famed Ghulam Haider. He received formal training in music from Ustad Abdul Rehman Khan and later started singing Rafi songs in stage shows. It was during one of those musical shows that Anwar was spotted by the music director Kamal Rajasthani. Thus he got his first opportunity to sing in movies. His debut song was ‘Kasme Hum Apni Jaan Ki’ of the movie, Mere Gharib Nawaz for which he got personally acclamation and congratulation from Mohammad Rafi, his true inspiration. Mohammed Rafi was so impressed that he described Anwar as the one singer who could take his place after him.
In 1977, he sang for Janta Hawaldar. The songs - Teri Aankhon Ki Chahat, and Humse Ka Bhool Hui, pictured on Rajesh Khanna were instant hits. But 1980’s witnessed the worst music and it disintegrated the career of Anwar also. Later Anwar concentrated on to live concerts only. In 2006, Anwar recorded a Sufi song for the film Kabhi Pyar kiya. His latest release album is Tohfa and the song "Yun Zaher Zindagi Ka Piye Ja” reflects his true soul in music. Anwar is step brother of actor Arshad Warsi and actress Asha Sachdev.
