Anushka Manchanda Biography

Anushka Manchanda is an Indian singer, model, an ex-Video Jockey of Channel [V] and was a member of the Indian pop girl group Viva!, selected through the show conducted by Channel V in 2001. Now she is a successful singer of Bollywood as well as south Indian movies. among her Bollywood songs, the title track (remixed version) of Dum maro dum pictured on Deepika Padukone is her most popular song. She has made screen appearance in cameo in Dulha Mil Gaya.

 

Anushka Manchanda was born in Delhi on 11 February 1985. She achieved limelight after winning Channal V’s talent hunt show – Coke V Popstars, when she along with four more girls - Seema Ramchandani, Pratichee Mohapatra, Mahua Kamat and Neha Bhasin were selected as winners. Viva soon launched their first self-titled album ‘Viva! ‘ in 2002 followed by ‘Viva! Reloaded’.  Both were successful. However the group spilt because of differences, Anushka got to work as VJ for Channel [V] for a short time.

 

She stepped into playback singing by singing for SimbhuJyothika starrer Tamil movie, Manmadhan in 2004. The song was O Mahire. Later her songs like "Kudakooli" (Kalvanin Kadhali), "Money Money" (Thimiru),"Thee Pidikka" (Arinthum Ariyamalum) and "Oh..Oh..Ennanamo" (Chennai 600028) became very popular. Her Bollywood entry was through the title track of 2006 hit movie – Golmaal. After that he became a popular voice of Bollywood as well. Not only that, her voice has always been used later to sing the title tracks of Golmaal series till now.

She has sung the remixed version of ‘Na jaane kaha se aayi hai’ in U me aur main.
