Anurag Thakur Biography 
Anurag Thakur is a young politician belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party. He is son of Prem Kumar Dhumal, the former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Currently he is a member of Lok Sabha from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh and the Joint Secretary of BCCI. He was earlier elected to Lok Sabha in May 2008 as a BJP Candidate. BJP president Nitin Gadkari has appointed him the president of the All India Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. He is married to Shefali Thakur, daughter of Gulab Singh Thakur, former cabinet minister of Himachal Pradesh who served the position as Public Works Department minister.
He was born on 24 October 1974 at Hamirpur as the elder son of Prem Kumar Dhumal and Sheela Devi. He studied at Dayanand Model School, Jalandhar, Punjab. He completed graduation from Doaba College, Jalandhar. He has been a good cricketer since school days. Now he is the current President of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and also serves as the Joint Secretary of BCCI. He is the youngest President of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association and he has been selected for the post when he was only 25. He has been instrumental in making Himachal Pradesh capable of hosting international cricket matches at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
In May 2008, he succeeded his father and got elected to parliament from Hamirpur constituency. He became the youngest national selector in 2001 to select Indian Junior Cricket teams. He was only 26 then. He also serves as the General Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association and Hockey Himachal Pradesh. He is an Executive Member of India Olympic Association and also serves as the President of State Rifle Association, Himachal Pradesh.
