Anuradha Krishnamurthy Biography 
Anuradha Krishnamurthy also referred to as Anuradha Suresh Krishnamurthy is a successful Carnatic singer and musician. Regarded as the burning star of the Indian Carnatic music horizon at present, her attempts to combine the old traditional Carnatic music with her fresh innovative ideas have proved successful. She has been trained in the old tradition of Carnatic music.
Anuradha was born into a family of musicians. Her father Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Professor K. V. Narayanswamy is a noted musician who learnt Carnatic music from Ariakudi Ramanuja Iyengar. Since born into a music gharana, Anuradha too inherited the music talents from her father, who taught her the first lessons since the age of three. By the age of 10, she learnt the basic grammar of Carnatic music and also learnt from her mother. She earned a scholarship given by Ford Foundation in the year 1991 and got opportunity to learn music from Dr. T. Vishwanathan, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and Padmabushan T. Brinda for six long months. She also got an opportunity to be guided by M. S. Subbalakshmi. Anuradha completed graduation in Carnatic music from Madras University.
Her first solo performance was in the year 1986 at the age of 18 at the December Music Festival held by Indian Fine Arts Society, Chennai. Since then she regularly performs for many live concerts including Thyagaraja Aradhana festival and many foreign concerts. She received Best Junior Vocalist at the December Music Festival organised by Naradha Gana Sabha in the year 1991. D.K.Pattamal Award for music in 1997, Best Raga Alapana Award by Indian Fine Arts Society in 1997, Valarum Kalaignar Award by Tamil Isai Sangam in 1998 and Best Neraval Award by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in the year 1997 are a few more honours received by her. She is also an ‘A-grade’ artist in AIR.
