Anuja Chauhan Biography

Anuja Chauhan is an Indian writer and advertiser. She has served as the vice president and executive creative director of advertising agency, JWT India, the organization with which she has worked for 17 years. She resigned from the post in 2010 to completely concentrate on to her writings. Over the years she has worked with several leading brands of the country. As a writer, her bestselling novels are The Zoya Factor (2008), Battle For Bittora (2010) and "Those Pricey Thakur Girls" (2013). These three books are romantic novels. Her older sister Nandini Bajpai is also a writer.

Anuja was born in a Rajput family in Meerut, UP in 1970. Her father served in the Indian Army. As a result her childhood days were spent at several places of North India, due to frequent transfers of her father. She studied in several schools like Army Public School, New Delhi, Sophia Girls Convent, Meerut Cantonment and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi. Later she took degree in economics from Miranda House, Delhi University, and a post graduate diploma in mass communication from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. After studies, she joined JWT in 1993.

She is the master mind behind many memorable catchphrases of advertising world like - "Yeh Dil Maange More!", "Mera Number kab Aayega","Nothing official about it" and " Oye Bubbly" of Pepsi Cola, Darr ke Aage jeet Hai for Mountain Dew, Tedha Hai par mera Hai for Kurkure, "Be a Little Dillogical", for Lays Chips and KitKat Break Banta hai for Nestle Kit Kat. At the age of 33, she had already become one of the youngest vice presidents in JWT. In those days, during 2003, her name was frequently included in the ten hottest creative directors in India. She was known for her penchant for "simple solution to a complex advertising problem", with good ideas.
