Anoop Chandran Biography

Anoop Chandran is a Malayalam actor known for portraying supporting and character roles. Anoop has appeared in about 40 Malayalam movies and has donned the role of a comedian in majority of the movies. He is best known for playing the role of 'Pazhanthuni' Koshi, a college student and hostelite in 2006 Malayalam blockbuster – Classmates. He is quite known for portraying comic roles in his distinct style and body mannerisms. His physical figure also plays a significant role in his comedy characters played onscreen. Most recently in November 2013, he came to limelight following his arrest and release at Alappuzha. The actor was arrested for laughing during Youth Congress leader's speech.

This actor is known for his reluctance towards new generation Malayalam movies. He believes that new generation movies are like ripples which fade away soon. Classmates, Big B, Rasathanthram and Vinodhayathra are among his most memorable roles. He has also acted in the offbeat movie - Raman and Ramanam. Nowadays he appears in lesser number of movies. He belongs to Areeparambu of Cherthala of Alappuzha district. He also appears as a celebrity judge in Comedy reality shows in Asianet channel.

Anoop Chandran is also known as a strong activist of Communist Party and regularly appears with his speeches and interviews in channels. Anoop Chandran was arrested on Friday, 22 November 2013 at Cherthala. He was accused of using abusive language and beat youth congress supporters and the arrest was based on the complaint given by Youth congress supporters. He was also was manhandled by the Youth Congress activists.
