Ankita Raina is an Indian tennis player who ranked number three in India and 636 in the world in tennis as of 6th August 2012. The highest world ranking in her career is 574 as of 10th December 2012 and career high doubles ranking is 464 as of 17th December 2012.
She was born on 11th January 1993 in Gujarat. Her mother’s name is Lalita Raina and she is an employee of Life Insurance Corporation. She is highly supportive to the tennis career of her daughter.
She defeated Sheethal Goutham at the National Grasscourt Championship in 2009 in the women’s singles. In 2011, she lost the title to Aishwarya Agarwal of Madhya Pradesh. She took part in the Asia/Oceania Zone Fed Cup tournament 2010 and won the PCMC Mayor’s Trophy All India Ranking Women’s Tennis tournament at the PWD Sports Complex.
With Poojashree Venkatesha as her partner she could reach the doubles final at the ITF Women’s Circuit Tennis Tournament in Kolkata in 2011. However she lit in the final match to Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia and Nicole Clerico of Italy.
