Anitha Kumaraswamy Biography

Anitha Kumaraswamy is an Indian politician from Karnataka politics associated with regional politics. She has served as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, representing Madhugiri in 2013 state assembly elections. She is the first wife of H D Kumaraswamy, current chief minister of Karnataka. Budding actor of south Indian cinema, Nikhil Gowda, also credited as Nikhil Kumar is the son of H D Kumaraswamy and Anitha Kumaraswamy. She is the daughter-in-law of H. D. Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister. Anita serves as a member of Janata Dal (Secular), and she has been earlier associated with Janata Dal.

Anita is a Public servant & Entrepreneur. She is into business sector also. She heads the Business of Petrol and Petroleum Product under the name, Style of Nikhil & Co. She is also associated with film and television Serial Production under the name, Style of Nikhil Creations. When assets were declared prior to 2013 state assembly elections, she owns Rs 128.6 crore worth of assets, one of the richest contestants of state assembly election. She has also lent huge sums of money to her husband and son Nikhil. She has served as the member of state assembly twice.

She is married to present chief minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy. Kumaraswamy is married to film actress Radhika Kumaraswamy since 2006, and has a child in this marriage. However Kumaraswamy didn’t divorce before his second marriage and they are still living together. However after he assumed power as CM of Karnataka, the controversy has been brought to limelight once again. Quite interestingly, he married Anita exactly at the same year when Radhika was born. Even before the election, Kumaraswamy was criticized severely for marrying Radhika despite being in a relationship with his first wife Anitha. Kumaraswamy too has never admitted in public that Radhika is his wife.
