Anirudh Ravichander Biography

Anirudh Ravichander is an Indian music composer and singer who concentrates in Tamil film industry. He considers A. R. Rahman as his guru who inspired him a lot. He belongs to a filmy background. He was shot into fame after the song Why This Kolaveri Di.

Anirudh was born on 16^th October 1990 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. His father Ravi Raghavendra is an actor and his mother Lakshmi is a dancer. When he was still a school boy he showed great interest in music and was a part of the school band named Zinx. He studied and got his graduation from Loyola College at Chennai where he was a part of the band named The Circuit along with five other members. Then he joined the Trinity College of Music at London and got his lessons in the classical piano.

He is a good keyboard player and a professional drummer and has won several awards to his credit. He also learnt Carnatic music and has taken part in the TV show when studying in school. A. R. Rahman happened to be the judge of the show and his band won the competition. He was proud to receive the Best Instrumentalist Award from the hands of A.R. Rahman who was his dream idol. The moment of getting award from him has been described by him as the best moment in his life.

Being a nephew of Latha Rajinikanth added his star value and for the short films directed by his cousin Aishwarya Rajinikanth, he used to compose music while he was studying in college. And so later when she directed her first film 3, she gave him an opportunity to compose music for it.

His second album Dhanush’s Sachin Anthem was released on Youtube by the company Boost. He was featured in the song written in similar fashion of Why This Kolaveri song mixing English and Tamil. His Hindi song Al Dil Mere also went viral on Youtube. This promising musician was caught up in lip-lock gossips when the video of him kissing Andrea Jeremiah went viral online.
